About Fuji Rock

Fuji Rock Festival is held at the Naeba ski resort in the mountains of Niigata Prefecture, often called the world's most beautiful festival site. Three days of rock, electronic and global music draw around 100,000 attendees into a stage layout that winds through forest and alongside a river.

Typical weather

Late July in the Niigata mountains is the peak of Japan's rainy and typhoon season: highs of 23–26°C, humid nights of 18–20°C, and a very high chance of rain — often heavy, often for days at a stretch. Mountain mist is near-permanent.

How weather shapes Fuji Rock

Rain is essentially expected, and Fuji Rock has built its identity around it — the wooden boardwalks, drainage and rain-ready crowd are legendary. The bigger danger is a brushing typhoon, which can force evening cancellations. The forest setting keeps things cool and atmospheric even in heavy rain, and the river running through the site becomes the festival's natural cooling system.
