Lollapalooza Chicago 2026 Nice-Weather Probability

Now that the gates have closed on Lollapalooza Chicago, it is safe to say we survived a wild ride of a weekend that was significantly wetter than the usual Chicago summer. We started off with a perfect, sun-drenched Thursday that felt like 31°C thanks to the humidity, making it prime t-shirt and sunscreen weather. However, the vibe shifted quickly as a proper soaking moved in on Friday, followed by a Saturday that can only be described as a total washout with nearly 80mm of rain. That Saturday was a real outlier, feeling much cooler than the thermometer suggested and turning Grant Park into a literal mud bath. By Sunday, the clouds finally broke for some lovely, mild air that felt like 23°C, which was a welcome relief even if it was cooler than a typical August afternoon. If you packed heavy-duty waterproof boots and a poncho, you were definitely the smartest person in the crowd, because those soggy middle days were all about staying dry while navigating the puddles. It was a weekend of extremes, but seeing the sun come out for the final sets made all that mud worth it.
