Dekmantel Festival is a five-day underground electronic event split between Amsterdam's Muziekgebouw, club venues and the Amsterdamse Bos forest. Curated by the respected Dekmantel label, it draws around 10,000 selective ravers a day to a programme of forward-thinking house, techno and experimental music.
The turn of July into August in Amsterdam brings highs of 22–24°C, nights of 13–15°C, and frequent passing showers off the North Sea. Heatwaves into the 30s do happen but rarely last long.
The Amsterdamse Bos is essentially a working forest, so the trees absorb most light rain and the wood-chip paths stay walkable. Wind and humidity off the water are the bigger factors, and a light rain shell is far more useful than an umbrella. The compact crowd and curated stages mean weather rarely defines the experience.
