Detailed Copenhell 2026 Weather Recap

Now that the dust has settled on Copenhell 2026, we can all agree we were incredibly lucky with how the elements treated us this year. It started off a bit brisk on Wednesday, where that 17°C high felt more like a chilly 16°C in the breeze, definitely requiring a leather jacket or a heavy hoodie to stay comfortable between sets. However, the week just got better and better from there, staying much warmer and significantly drier than a typical June in Copenhagen. Thursday was nearly perfect with only a tiny, fleeting passing shower that barely dampened the asphalt, and by the weekend, we were treated to two absolute standout sunny days. Friday and Saturday were arguably the highlights, with the humidity making it feel like a tropical 25°C even though the thermometer read a bit lower. It was proper t-shirt weather and high sunburn risk territory, so hopefully you were generous with the sunscreen while waiting for the main stage. The nights stayed remarkably mild for the campers too, much warmer than the usual 13°C lows we expect this time of year, meaning you likely slept a lot better in your tent than you did at festivals past. I hope you left your heavy rain boots in the car and focused on staying hydrated, because this was one for the history books.

About Copenhell

Copenhell is Denmark's biggest metal festival, held on Refshaleøen, the former shipyard island in Copenhagen harbour. Four days of metal, hardcore and industrial music turn the post-industrial site into a heavily themed playground for around 30,000 fans a day.

Typical Copenhell weather

Mid-June in Copenhagen brings highs of 18–21°C, cool nights of 11–13°C, and a fair chance of showers off the Øresund. Genuine summer heat is unusual this early in the season.

How weather shapes Copenhell

Refshaleøen is concrete, gravel and steel — drainage is excellent, so the site never turns to mud, but wind off the harbour makes cool days feel raw. On the rare hot afternoon the lack of shade and the dark clothing of the crowd push everyone toward the bar tents and the harbour swim spot.
