Detailed Bonnaroo 2026 Weather Recap

Now that we are all back from Bonnaroo and finally catching up on sleep, it is the perfect time to look back at how well the farm treated us this year. While the air temperature stayed around a manageable thirty degrees, the Tennessee humidity definitely had other ideas, making it feel several degrees hotter and more oppressive than the thermometer suggested every single afternoon. Thursday and Friday were absolute dreams for wandering between stages in just a t-shirt, though we did have to dodge a few passing showers and one short downpour. Saturday turned out to be the standout sunny day of the weekend, but that heavy air meant it felt like thirty-four degrees, making shade and constant water refills your best friends. Sunday was the real outlier of the trip as a proper, persistent rain set in during the afternoon, which was much wetter than the typical June average for Manchester. Even though the nights stayed warm enough that you probably didn't need a heavy jacket in your tent, those muddy boots were likely a necessity by the time the final headliner finished. Over the whole weekend, it was definitely a bit warmer and stickier than a typical year, so hopefully you kept that sunscreen applied and embraced the damp camp vibes.

About Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo is a four-day music and arts festival held on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. Since 2002 around 80,000 people have camped on 'The Farm' each June for a sprawling line-up spanning rock, hip-hop, electronic, jam and Americana.

Typical Bonnaroo weather

Mid-June in middle Tennessee is deep Southern summer: highs of 29–32°C, humid nights of 19–21°C, and a regular chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Heat indices regularly push past 35°C in direct sun.

How weather shapes Bonnaroo

Heat and humidity are the dominant challenge — Bonnaroo runs free water stations and misting tents for a reason. Severe thunderstorms can roll across the farm fast and have forced multiple weather evacuations over the years, and when it rains heavily the open farmland turns into red Tennessee mud that sticks to everything.
